Read and Study the Bible

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword; it penetrates to the deepest parts of the soul and spirit, to the marrow of the bones, and judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart." - Hebrews 4:12

While others see only our physical appearance, God sees our hearts. He knows exactly what needs to be removed, healed, or restored. He desires the best for us and understands that anything within us not originating from Him can negatively affect our hearts and our relationship with Him. His plan is for us to live a life filled with His peace and joy. He created us with a purpose. 

"But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at his height, for I have rejected him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'" — 1 Samuel 16:7 

This does not mean we will not face trials and tribulations in life. We will go through difficult times, but without Jesus, we could never truly overcome them. With Him, we can take heart, knowing He has already overcome the world for us through the cross. Before receiving Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we live in a constant state of dissatisfaction. Only He can make us whole. God's Word strengthens us, instructing us to be overcomers and representatives of His Kingdom. 

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." — 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
